Team roles
Der Dr. Meredith Belbin (Management Teams: why they succeed and fail, 1981) Fragebogen ergab: Coordinator / Shaper. Zur Wahl standen ausserdem: Plant, Resource Investigator,Team Worker, Specialist, Monitor Evaluator, Implementor, Completer Finisher.
Coordinator: The team controller. Thending towards introversion but with the capacity to motivate others and pull them together towards a common purpose. A people person, concerned to involve everybody and make sure that they are valued. They are trusting and compassionate, driven by deep values which they will gently push. They will recognise people's talents and look to harness them. They are good at defusing confilct.
On the downside they can be too trusting, and, if not careful, too concerned with keeping people happy to get the job done. They may try to please too many people at the same time.
Shaper: If the Co-ordinator is the Team Controller, the Shaper ist the Slave Driver. Task oriented and prepared to move mountains to achieve their goals. Estrovert, challenging, direct and often outspoken. The great benefint of this team member is the ability to get poeple and things focused on the task. They are persuasive and prepared to negotiate and compromise to get things moving.
On the downside, the Shaper can rub people up the wrong way. Very Quick, they can forget to explain, they can become impationt and very directive. They like to fly by the seat of their pants and this can be risky. If they are not quick then a lack of planning can lead to problems. Whatever happens, working with the Shaper is going to be fun.
